On Monday, smoke was seen billowing around Dubai International Airport due to a fire caused by a drone-related incident that impacted a fuel tank in the vicinity. This led to a swift emergency response and the temporary suspension of flights.

Dubai Civil Defence emergency teams arrived in a few minutes to address the fire. Police and firefighters rushed to the rescue by turning on safety measures around the region as the blaze was contained. Officials later confirmed the fire had been brought under control and, importantly, no casualties were reported.
The quick action averted the escalation of the situation and ensured the safety of other operations in the airport.
Officials Confirm Incident And Containment Of Fire
According to the report of NDTV, the police claimed that the event was a drone incident that took place in the area of the airport and affected one of the fuel tanks.
The Dubai Civil Defence firefighters acted fast enough to keep the fire at bay and stabilise the situation.
The priority remained clear: safeguard passengers, airport staff, and nearby residents.
Flights Temporarily Suspended As A Precaution
As part of a precautionary measure, the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority suspended flights at the airport immediately after the incident.
The authorities conducted safety checks as passengers were advised to call their airlines to be updated about their travel plans. To minimise the disturbance, some flights had been diverted to the Al Maktoum International Airport.
In the meantime, the police blocked the roads of the airports and tunnels in the adjacent areas, temporarily allowing the emergency services to deal with the situation without any interference.
