Due to the tensions in the Middle East, flights have been affected globally. Amongst those affected are especially those between India and the UAE. Passengers who are travelling between India and the UAE now continue to face the disruption. Major Indian carriers have extended the flight suspension as the ongoing situation is currently tense.
India-UAE Flights Affected Amid Tensions
It is advisable that the passengers follow the official sources and channels to refer to the latest updates. With the UAE airports continuing to remain closed, several Indian carriers have cancelled their flights. For instance, the flag carrier of India, Air India, has extended full flexibility for passengers who are travelling to or from the Middle East. They have announced that those who made bookings on or before February 28th with travel plans planned up to March 5th can reschedule the flights. They can do so at no additional charge. Additionally, they can also request a full refund to their original form of payment.
Air India Express, IndiGo & Other Airlines Announce Measures
Air India Express, which is the sister airline, has also confirmed the extension of the suspension of flights. The flights are extended until March 2nd. And these are to the countries of Bahrain, Oman, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE. So, the impacted guests have been notified directly, and passengers who booked to travel to and from the Gulf region up to February 28th for journeys that are scheduled until March 5th can reschedule or even cancel for a full refund.
Another budget carrier, IndiGo, mentions how it has acknowledged the developments in the Middle East and is taking measured and responsible decisions across international sectors. Affected customers can either explore alternative travel options or even claim a refund, as they have extended the suspension of flights.

Akasa Air has also suspended flights to and from Abu Dhabi, Doha, Kuwait, Jeddah, and Riyadh until March 2nd. So, bookings that were made to or from these cities until March 7th can be cancelled for a full refund or even be rescheduled at a later date for no additional cost.
SpiceJet has also mentioned that all the flight operations between India and the UAE have been cancelled to the cities of Dubai and Sharjah for March 2nd as well. So, affected passengers can check their flight status on the official website.
Larger Flight Operations Suspended
Coming to the larger flight operations across the UAE, it basically remains suspended, as several regional space closures are disrupting the schedules. The General Civil Aviation Authority is closely coordinating with the airports and airlines to synchronise the schedules. With activation of emergency plans, the aim is to swiftly return to normal operations. With airlines extending flight suspension, they are also offering full flexibility to the passengers to rebook the flights or even request a full refund.
