Keeping the current situation in mind, Kuwait has announced that it is extending the visit visa. Not to mention, it has also eased residency rules amid the Middle East travel disruptions for stranded travellers. This temporary ease for certain immigration rules is to support travellers and residents who have been affected by flight cancellations and the closure of airspaces.
Kuwait Announces Visit Visa Extension
As revealed in a report of the Times of India, visitation visas that are about to expire or have already expired during the current disturbances will be extended automatically by one month. This is according to a statement from the Kuwait Ministry of Interior. This extension will be processed automatically through the electronic systems of the ministry. Additionally, with the exceptional conditions due to the regional crisis, all the administrative fees and possible fines that are associated with the visa overseas will be cancelled.
Relief Measures For Residents
Not only this, but the Kuwait Government has also announced relief measures for residents. This is for those who are currently outside the country and cannot return due to flight disruption. So, usually, holders of a Kuwaiti residence permit can’t remain outside the country beyond a certain time without being at risk of cancellation of their residency status. But many residents have been unable to return due to the airlines’ suspension of services. And with the regional airspace closures continuing, this extension was given.

Online Visa Extension Process
It should be noted that this process of visa extension will be handled entirely through the electronic systems. So, basically residents don’t have the need to submit or pay administrative fees. It was also further mentioned by the officials that if the situation worsens or the travel disruptions continue to persist, these deadlines might be extended further.
This development comes at a time when there are a lot of disruptions for flights, amid the Middle East conflict. As it happens, thousands of travellers have been stranded due to regional airspace closure. They have been forced to change their plans with some countries, even arranging repatriation flights and offering alternative travel solutions to help them return home.
