Manikuttan G S To Take On 600-Day Global Travel From Kuwait

Manikuttan G S is an Indian expatriate living in Kuwait, and he has begun his extraordinary travel odyssey all the way from Kuwait. This is a 600-day journey where he will be travelling through 135 countries for a new world record. As revealed by the Kuwait Times, this unique expedition carries the motto, ‘One Man, One Car, One Dream: Peace’. It was ceremonially flagged off on the Indian Independence Day of August 15th at 5 PM.

He Holds A Guinness World Record

After his journey was ceremonially flagged off in front of the Kuwait Towers, Manikuttan G S is now on his ambitious journey. During this journey, he will be engaging with diverse community is across the continents. It should be noted that he is already a Guinness World Record holder. He earned his global recognition in 2023 for completing the longest car journey in a single country. Yes, he ended up surpassing a record, which was previously held by an American citizen. Already having 11 world records and one prestigious award to his credit, he is now on a historic mission.

This incredible road journey covers 135 countries, covering an estimated 2,50,000 km. The aim is to eclipse Americans Jim Rogers and Paige Parker, who journeyed through 116 countries over three years. This man’s journey is truly a treat for the wanderlust in our souls.

Similar Journeys Previously Undertaken By Other Travellers

Similar expeditions have previously been undertaken by other people from around the globe. About two years ago, something similar was undertaken by an Indian woman, Meenakshi Das. She set off on her bike, solo travelling across 67 countries. She travelled to other Middle Eastern countries, besides those in Europe and Asia. Another man, Munir Karim in Dubai, also decided to travel to 44 countries, covering 1,95,000 km in his Dubai-registered car.

So, with travellers from different nationalities taking on similar challenges. It shows how travelling and the need to interact with different communities and understand different cultures is something that travellers seem to share. So, as this Indian expat begins his incredible journey, we certainly hope he breaks that Guinness World Record.
