Have you ever wondered how the UAE keeps levelling up its travel game? Well, here’s your answer: Ras Al Khaimah (RAK) is stepping up with a brand-new VVIP terminal and private jet hangar. It’s going to be screaming luxury. And yes, it’s happening at RAK International Airport.
Ras Al Khaimah Is Building A VVIP Terminal That’ll Change How The Northern Emirates Travel
The airport teamed up with Falcon Executive Aviation, part of Alex Group Investment, to build and run a state-of-the-art Fixed Base Operation facility. It has the potential to be the Northern Emirates’ new front door for the world’s most private, high-profile and high-spending travellers.
This isn’t a small upgrade. As mentioned in the press release, expect a 1,500 sq m luxury terminal, an 8,000 sq m multi-purpose hangar, and 9,000 sq m of apron and parking space. And the location? Only 15 minutes from RAK’s top resorts and the anticipated Wynn Al Marjan Island resort. Basically, jet-setters can step off their aircraft and be on the beach in no time.
What’s Inside? Pure Luxury
The VVIP terminal is built for travellers who prefer privacy. It features a Royal lounge, four VVIP lounges, premium hospitality and an environment designed for guests who want things quiet, polished and discreet. Airside, the setup includes generous parking, a helipad and a dedicated space for future vertical mobility tech, a.k.a the flying taxis.
The hangar will cater to every type of private jet, including the ultra-long-range birds that crisscross continents in one shot. Maintenance, operations, and service standards? All aligned with global aviation benchmarks.
Built For The Future (And The Planet)
One of the strongest parts of the story is the sustainability angle. The entire development aims for LEED Gold certification, rolling out solar power to offset 35% of energy use, adopting fully electric ground service equipment and enabling sustainable aviation fuel.

Construction will run over the next 15 months, and the grand opening is set for Q1 2027.
