If you’ve ever cursed traffic between Dubai and Abu Dhabi, here’s something to smile about. Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has rolled out a new intercity bus route connecting Al Quoz Bus Station, Dubai, to MBZ Bus Station in Abu Dhabi. Yup, finally, a way to sit back, relax, and actually enjoy the ride.

RTA Launches New Dubai-Abu Dhabi Bus Route With Ticket At AED25 Per Ride

The fare? AED25 per person. Nol card, cash, take your pick. Honestly, that’s cheaper than most brunches in the city, and no one has to worry about parking or petrol.

A Growing Bus Network

This isn’t RTA’s first go at intercity travel lately. Back in May, the E308 bus started running between Dubai and Sharjah, AED12 per ride. Stadium Bus Station to Al Jubail Bus Station. People seem to like it. And honestly? I get it. Safer, easier, and less stressful than driving yourself.

In August, RTA announced five more routes and re-routed some old ones to match rising demand. If you ask me, Dubai is slowly getting serious about making public transport, well… usable beyond the city limits.

Wi-Fi, Comfort, And Chill

All 250+ intercity buses come with free Wi-Fi. So yeah, check emails, scroll Insta, chat with family. That’s the kind of tiny detail that makes a big difference on a long ride.

Road Closures In Sharjah

Now, drivers, don’t get too comfy. Sharjah RTA announced the King Faisal Street exit to Al Wahda Street (toward Dubai) will be closed from October 3 to October 11.

Al Wahda Street leads straight to Al Nahda, Deira, DXB. Expect delays. The closure is near Sharjah Industrial Area 4 and Abu Shagara, with a detour looping through Industrial Area 4, Al Bu Daniq, Al Nad, and Al Majaz 2. Annoying? Yep. Necessary? Also yes. Long-term, it should make traffic smoother.

Why This Actually Matters

Let’s face it. Driving between emirates is a headache. AED25, free Wi-Fi, no parking stress, why not? And honestly, the more people take these buses, the less crowded the roads. It’s win-win. Take a window seat if you can. Look out over the highways, sip something, scroll your phone, or just stare. It’s a ride, sure, but a little less painful than the alternative. Public transport in the UAE is slowly turning into something you might actually enjoy. And to be fair, it’s about time.
