Recently, the Ministry of Tourism in Saudi Arabia approved updated regulations and classification standards for accommodation facilities. These are for the facilities that would serve the pilgrims during the Hajj season 2027. The updated regulations come ahead of the preparations for the 2027 pilgrimage, and here is all you need to know.

Hajj 2027 Accommodation Rules Updated

The ministry, as revealed in a report by the Gulf News, approved violations that cover facilities designated for accommodating pilgrims in Mecca and Medina. As revealed by the spokesperson of the ministry, the changes have been designed in such a way that they strengthen the regulatory and operational framework. Moreover, it also improves the readiness of hospitality facilities so that they meet the standards before pilgrims can be received.

What Are These Rules?

According to the updated requirements, operational safety and maintenance standards, compliance with operating requirements, and continuity of essential services are covered. All of these aim to provide a safe and well-organised stay for the pilgrims. Moreover, under the new standards, the Hajj season accommodations are to be classified into categories: these are economy and first class. In fact, there would be specific requirements that would apply to each of the categories.
