Russia and Saudi Arabia signed a visa-free travel agreement, which will come into effect on May 11th. Through this agreement, citizens of both countries can enter visa-free. This is according to a statement that was issued by the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on April 6th. Here’s all you need to know about the big development relating to visas.

Saudi Arabia And Russia Sign Visa-Free Entry

Through the agreement signed between Russia and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, travel between the two countries just got easier. Now, one can travel between the two countries without prior visas, which marks a step towards strengthening bilateral ties. Through this arrangement, travellers will be able to stay for up to 90 days. They can do so either continuously or cumulatively within a calendar. As revealed in a report of the news, the visa exemption is for specific purposes. Yes, this includes tourism, business visits, and visits to relatives and friends.

However, it’s worth mentioning that the Russian citizens have not been granted the right to use this visa for work or study. Not to mention, it does not give residency in the kingdom or allow travel for Hajj. These purposes will still require appropriate visas that would be in line with existing regulations. Likewise, Saudi Arabians can now travel to Russia visa-free and explore the beautiful country that’s known for its dramatic landscape and age-old architecture.
