Dubai Police issued a renewed warning against scammers who are posting online claims of job and visa offers in exchange for cash. Yes, they renewed their warning against such fraudulent elements on August 25th, and asked people to remain vigilant. Using names of unlicensed companies, these scammers often pose as official bodies, making a fool out of people and scamming them out of their hard-earned money.
Dubai Police Warns Against Jobs & Visa Scams
As revealed in a report by The National News, these scammers are increasingly using social media and messaging apps to deceive victims. The anti-fraud centres at Dubai Police are a part of the ongoing Beware of fraud awareness campaign. It focused on the importance of completing all visas and other important transactions through official channels. It should be noted that people had also been urged to exercise caution and to avoid being misled by false problems of visas or jobs that are attained by illegal means.
But How To Stay Safe?
People can follow easy steps in order to stay safe from such labour and visa fraud. The first thing they must do when they receive a job offer on the UAE is to ensure that they obtain an offer letter that has been issued by the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation, which is signed by the authorised manager.
Additionally, people must also verify the validity of the job offer by using its reference number through the application status inquiry Service on the MOHRE website. It should be noted that once the offer letter is signed, the employer will then send an electronic entry permit for the employment. This would allow them to enter the country. It should be noted that a visit or a tourist entry permit visa does not give the holders the right to work in the UAE.

Be Careful And Verify Details
In fact, working under such a visa is a legal liability and will result in fines. Employers are responsible for recruitment expenses according to the labour laws in the UAE. So, make sure to search the English and Arabic names of the company in the National Economic Register and get the details. Finally, if your visa has been issued in Dubai, you can verify it on the website of the GDRFA and make sure to verify the validity of your entry visa issued from other emirates on the platform of ICP.
The police force urges people to report such fraudulent activities through the Dubai police smart app. They can also use the e-crime platform for cybercrime reports or even call 901.
