Recently, updated guidance for the Digital Travel Arrival Card was issued by the Royal Thai Embassy. requiring foreign nationals, including those from the UAE, to fill up a pre-arrival form. And this is a mandatory procedure. The TDAC is required, as many foreign embassies are cautioning people over security risks due to tension in the border areas.

What Is The Digital Travel Arrival Card?

Talking more about the Digital Travel Arrival Card, this is a mandatory online arrival form that people, even those travelling from the UAE, must fill up. This was introduced on May 1, and it replaces the physical arrival card, as revealed by the Gulf News. And now, the Thai authorities have published a step-by-step guide for the application-related instructions. It clarifies how the travellers must submit the information before they board.

Facts For UAE Residents To Keep In Mind

If you are travelling to Thailand, then you must take note of a few quick facts that you will need to know as a UAE resident.

  • You must complete the TDAC 72 hours before your arrival in Thailand.
  • It is required for all travellers, including visa-exempt nationals.
  • The TDAC must be submitted individually or in groups.
  • This is an electronic confirmation slip that must be shown upon arrival.

Travellers can get access to the updated process and the form, which is available on the Thai Immigration Bureau’s official portal. As it happens, nationals have been advised to steer clear of non-essential travel within 50 km of the border. These include the provinces of:

  • Surin
  • Si Saket
  • Ubon Ratchathani
  • Buriram
  • Sa Kaeo
  • Chanthaburi
  • Trat (mainland)
