Let’s not pretend this happened overnight. The rise has been steady and deliberate. Just a decade ago, the UAE passport sat in 42nd place. Fast forward to now, and it’s up by 34 spots. That’s not just growth, that’s a diplomatic flex.

From just 35 countries to 184 destinations, this blue book has come a long way. Credit goes to the UAE’s relentless diplomatic efforts. Behind the scenes, officials have worked deals, opened doors, and strengthened global ties. This didn’t just benefit business travellers or influencers, it’s opened the world for every citizen, whether you’re jetting to Milan for fashion or heading to Seoul for street eats.

And here’s the kicker, the UAE now shares the 8th position with Canada and Estonia. Not too shabby, huh?

Where Everyone Else Stands

While the UAE has raised itself on the rank table, here’s where other passports have reached. Singapore has topped the list, giving its holders access to 193 visa-free destinations. Japan and South Korea follow closely with 190 destinations.

The UK sits comfortably in 6th place with access to 186 destinations. Australia isn’t far behind in 7th with 185. Our friends in Qatar rank 47th, just below Russia and Turkey at 46. Saudi Arabia is in 54th place, tied with Guyana and Vanuatu, while Bahrain follows right after. Oman’s passport sits at 56th.

Meanwhile, India is sitting at 77th on the list, with access to just 59 countries. Jordan’s at 84th, Egypt’s one spot behind at 85th, and Lebanon’s holding on at 89th. Down at the tail end, Iran sits at 91st, Bangladesh follows at 94th, and Pakistan rounds it off at 96th, definitely not the most travel-friendly passports out there.
