Hence, the Sharjah Book Authority understands the relevance of making the event accessible to the crowd. As the event rolls out this November first week, SBA has announced the launch of free boat and shuttle bus services for visitors arriving from Sharjah, Dubai and Ajman. So, if you want to visit but travel has been a hassle, here’s your cue to mark your calendars to attend one of the world’s biggest cultural events for bibliophiles.
Free Boats & Shuttle Buses To Make Travel Easy For Sharjah International Book Fair 2025 Visitors
According to a report by Gulf Today, this year, Sharjah International Book Fair marks its 44th edition and will be held from November 5 to 16, 2025. The venue for this event is at the Expo Centre Sharjah. Apart from making it a book-lovers’ paradise, SBA is focusing on making this event accessible and eco-friendly for visitors
Free Shuttle Buses From Dubai & Ajman
Two dedicated shuttle bus routes will operate daily from Dubai and Ajman, making it easier for visitors to commute without worrying about traffic or parking. Each route will run three times a day. Expect 12 hours of service to and from the Expo Centre in a single day.
- From Dubai: Buses will depart from Al Rashidiya Bus Station.
- From Ajman: Departures will begin from the City Centre Ajman parking area.
You can book your departures to the Book Fair: 9:00 AM, 1:00 PM, and 5:00 PM
Return trips: 12:00 PM, 4:00 PM, and 9:00 PM
Beat The Traffic And Take The Free Boat Ride
We understand if you don’t want to get stuck in the traffic as your excitement peaks to arrive at the Sharjah International Book Fair. Simply hop aboard the FR5 marine transport service if you are travelling from Dubai and Al Ghubaiba Marine Station to Sharjah Aquarium Marine Station.
From there, traditional wooden boats will ferry passengers between Sharjah Aquarium, Al Qasba, and Expo Centre Sharjah. These nostalgic boats will be running continuously during the fair’s opening hours, and the service for visitors is absolutely FREE!
Boat Schedule Highlights
To ensure smooth travel between Dubai and Sharjah, the FR5 marine service has been given an extensive schedule.
- Weekdays (Mon–Thu): Departures from Sharjah at 7:00 AM, 8:30 AM, 1:00 PM, 4:45 PM, 6:15 PM
- Fridays: 7:00 AM, 8:30 AM, 2:00 PM, 4:00 PM, 6:00 PM
- Weekends: 2:00 PM, 4:00 PM, 6:00 PM, 9:00 PM
Take boats from Al Ghubaiba to Sharjah for the return journey from the fair. It will run at corresponding times to accommodate both early visitors and evening attendees.
