The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Centre, which is in Abu Dhabi, has enhanced its readiness when it comes to welcoming visitors. This is especially for the holy month of Ramadan, as it is a part of the wider national initiative. The mosque has been prepared to host Taraweeh and Tahajjud prayers and loads more through a wide-scale preparation, and here’s what we are going to tell you about.
Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Centre To Offer Enhanced Experience
Enhancing its readiness, the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Centre, which is in Abu Dhabi, it will be hosting the Taraweeh and Tahajjud prayers. These are led by Imams, Idris Abkar, Alaa Al Muzajaji, Abdullah Al Baloushi, Yahya Aishan, and Abdul Basit Abdul Samad. A guest reciter will also be present. As it happens, Abu Dhabi TV will also be broadcast live every day so that it can reach audiences who are at home.
What Can Visitors Expect?
Not just prayers, but community programmes are also planned for the month. Yes, highlighting its spiritual and humanitarian messages, the Gulf News mentions how the annual ‘Jusoor’ programme is among them. This programme hosts gatherings for encouraging intercultural dialogue. Moreover, the second season of ‘Di’ photography competition, which is themed ‘Ramadan at the Mosque,’ will also be running. This competition is a part of the ‘Spaces of Light’ photography award, and it celebrates the cultural and artistic life at the mosque.
Additional initiatives will also be announced throughout the month, which include fasting guests. This is an annual initiative, which is in the memory of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. Offering daily Iftar meals at the mosque and supplying weekly food provisions to the Specialised Economic Zones, this initiative supports meals for beneficiaries from different communities.

Iftar Canons, 20+ Stalls & More
Not only this, but visitors can also experience the Iftar cannons, which are fired daily from the mosque. It is also broadcast live via the Abu Dhabi media network. Moreover, the mosque also features a Ramadan market with 22 stalls in the Northern and Southern courtyards. Cultural experiences are also happening at the Peace Dome and Souq Al Jami. And there are post-prayer tours, which include ‘Sura’ and ‘Al-Dalil’. More than 70 electric vehicles will facilitate the movement between parking areas and prayer halls.
Additionally, the mosque has been outfitted with 1,480 prayer carpets. With 160 partitions for women’s areas, water bottles will be distributed by service robots, and the halls will be perfumed with premium wood so that it has a warm atmosphere for visitors. With many more additional things being done to make it welcoming for guests, it’s all set to make Ramadan special for every visitor.
