Ajman Inaugurates Masfout Gate To Strengthen Tourism In The Region

Recently, Masfout Gate was inaugurated by His Highness Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ajman. A part of the UAE’s broad villages development initiative, it is led by the Emirates Council for Balanced Development. This is in cooperation with the Municipality and Planning Department of Ajman. Here’s all you need to know about the Masfout Gate project, which was unveiled in the mountainous Masfout region.

Masfout Gate Project Inaugurated By Ajman Ruler

With the aim of transforming rural areas into tourism and cultural destinations, Ajman inaugurated the Masfout Gate project. The gateway, which was inaugurated by His Highness Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, has been built over an area of 500 m². With the gate rising 16 m high, it features a 40 m architectural walkway. This has been designed to function as a visual landmark, which welcomes people to Masfout. Adding architectural value to the region, it is worth mentioning that Masfout was named the World’s Best Tourism Village 2025 in 2025 by the UN Tourism.

Masfout Is Just 90 Minutes Away From Ajman

Located just a 90-minute drive from Ajman city, Masfout is located in the Hajar mountains. It attracts tourists for its cooler climate, outdoor activities, and rugged scenery. An area, which is known for its hiking trails, mountain biking routes, roadside pottery market, and fertile agricultural land, this is a truly historic attraction. Moreover, it features the 19th-century Masfout Castle, where archaeological discoveries have shown how human settlements in the region date back thousands of years.

A Broader National Push

As revealed in a report of the Gulf News, the initiative also reflects a broader national push. The aim is to position rural and mountainous regions as important contributors to tourism growth. It is also being mentioned how the new gateway is expected to strengthen the status on UAE’s tourism map.

Linking heritage with modern development, the structure connects traditional design elements with modern architectural features, it positions it as a distinctive mountain destination.
