With December here, people are either making plans for travel or they’ve already planned it all out, so that they can celebrate the New Year with their friends and families, the way they have imagined. And with many people travelling in the month, Dubai International Airport has updated its festival travel forecast. Yes, it has revealed that December 28th will be the busiest day of the year according to the forecast by the Dubai Airports.

Dubai Airports Reveals The Busiest Travel Date For DXB

Dubai Airports, as you already know, is the operator of the world’s busiest airport, DXB and the Al Maktoum International Airport. And now, as mentioned in a report of the Gulf News, Dubai Airport expects that 3,12,000 passengers may pass through its gates on December 28th. It should be noted that this surpasses the anticipated peak of 3,09,000 travellers, which was earlier predicted for December 20th.

It should also be noted that December 2025 is already shaping up to be the busiest month in the entire history of the DXB. With the airport forecasting more than 8.7 million passengers passing through the gates, it is expected that the daily numbers could even exceed three lakh throughout December. And this includes both residents and visitors travelling for the festive period.

Why This Date?

But the next question that arises is, why is this particular date now the peak day? Well, the forecast has changed on the basis of several factors. For instance, it shows how popular Dubai has become as a festive destination with inbound travel, reaching its highest levels during the last week of December.

Practical Advice For Travellers

With large numbers of passengers passing through the terminal, the airport will be operating at near full capacity. And so the airport has issued several pieces of practical advice to help the passengers. These are as follows.

  • Check-in online if you wish to save time at the airport
  • Make sure to arrive no earlier than three hours before your flight
  • Say goodbye to your family at home, as only passengers are allowed inside the terminal during the peak period
  • Check the travel regulations and make sure that all documents are ready.

Seamless Check-In For Families

It should be noted that one can pass through the airport faster, even if they’re travelling with a large family. Yes, for instance, if you are a family with children over 12, you can use smart gates for quicker passport control. Make sure to pack smart for the security check so that there is less chaos during the whole process.

With many people passing through the airport during this period, while the staff is prepared to handle the large numbers, you must also take precautions at your end so that you can help them seamlessly pass through all the checkpoints
