Dubai Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan Shares Community Lunch At Al Khwaneej Majlis

His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who is the Crown Prince of Dubai, Minister of Defence, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Executive Council, joined 200+ local dignitaries and families in Deira. This happened on Tuesday, December 16th, to launch the programme, ‘Dubai Lunch’ initiative. This aims to strengthen the Emirates’’ social fabric through traditional community gatherings.

Sheikh Hamdan Attends Community Lunch

The event, which was attended by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan, was organised at Al Khawaneej Majlis. This marks the start of a series of events that have been designed to revive the role of majlis as a hub for local dialogue. The importance of the neighbourhood bonds was discussed during the afternoon. It was further mentioned that these majlis also serve as a bedrock of social cohesion. They offer a space for tradition and values to be passed down through lived experience.

Aligns Wwith Dubai Social Agenda 33

This launch comes at a time when the Emirate has begun the preparations to celebrate the ‘Year of Family’ in 2026. As it continues to open lunch gatherings at local majlis, the aim is to serve as an inclusive forum for residents where they can connect in a setting that reflects traditional hospitality. Not to mention, it aligns with Dubai Social Agenda 33 that focuses on enhancing social capital and encouraging residents to participate in public life.

He Shares A Meal With Attendees

As revealed from the pictures shared by the Dubai Media Office, Sheikh Hamdan was seen meeting all the local dignitaries and other people, who were at the event and finally sitting down for a stellar feast. The table, as shown in the picture, was laiden with delicious rice dishes that looked like Biriyani and Mandi, fresh fruits, and a dish that looked like Harees.

With the entire community, sharing a meall and talking over good food, such events form the core value of bringing people together in the spirit of respect and compassion as mentioned by Sheikh Hamdan.
