Dubai Municipality Opens Recreational Plazas In These Areas With Running Track & More

Dubai Municipality recently revealed how it opened recreational plazas. These are in line with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who is the Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and the Ruler of Dubai. With the aim of developing Dubai countryside and rural areas, the new recreational plazas are in Lehbab (1), Lehbab (2) and Nazwah.

Taking to X, Dubai Municipality revealed that it has opened new recreational plazas. These plazas are open in Lehbab (1), Lehbab (2) and Nazwah. Not to mention, the project also serves as a new addition to the growing network of parks, public facilities and recreational spaces in Dubai. This development covers over 3,30,000 ft.². Moreover, it includes the construction of sports courts. These feature modern designs and are suitable for people of varied age groups.

Coming to the plazas, these are equipped with contemporary outdoor fitness equipment, rubber flooring for children’s areas, upgraded surfaces, and seating zones that are perfect for a relaxed time. Visually enhancing the environment, the landscaping work, along with additional safety measures have also been introduced. Together, these have been introduced to ensure a safe, accessible, and community-focused recreational space.

It should be noted that this project is a part of the Dubai Countryside and Rural Areas Development Master Plan. With the aim of delivering a series of initiatives, these preserve the natural character of these areas. And the aim is also to offer recreational services and facilities. Moreover, it supports the objective of the ‘Year of the Family’. Additionally, it contributes to the Dubai 2040 Parks and Afforestation Strategy.

What Are The New Features Of These Parks?

Now, coming to the different plazas that have opened, here are some features you will want to know.

  • At Lehbab (1), the plaza has been equipped with two football pitches, a basketball court, a running track, a volleyball court, outdoor fitness equipment, a dedicated warm-up and multi-use area, and two children’s play zones featuring a rubber floor.
  • At Lehbab (2), there are basketball courts, a football pitch, a volleyball court, a running track with fitness equipment, and a children’s play area with safe rubber flooring.
  • Coming to Nazwah, there has been levelling of ground, installation of newly designed services, basketball courts, running track, football courts, volleyball courts, and a children’s play area

With these recreational plazas now open, the Dubai Municipality is currently developing Margham and Al Lisaili parks. So, these parks would include football pitches and running tracks, decorative planting, an advanced lighting system, landscaped seating areas, and smart surveillance cameras, which would enhance comfort and safety.

So, with these big developments, you can expect that it will certainly improve the quality of life for the residents.
