Spread across a whopping 2.6 million square metres, Dubai Square Mall will be three times the size of Dubai Downtown. In fact, it is expected to open within three years, as recently revealed in a report of the Gulf News. With the landmark lifestyle destination now under construction, it is set to open in Dubai Creek Harbour.
Dubai Square Mall To Open In 3 Years?
This news comes after Mohamed Ali Alabbar, who is the Founder and Managing Director of Emaar properties, recently shared on X that the mall will be three times the size of Downtown Dubai. Dubai Square Mall is expected to open in the next three years, and it is being regarded as one of the most ambitious developments in the emirate. With a total investment of AED180, it is being designed as a next-generation destination.
More About The Mall
As it happens, the mall will also allow electric vehicles to move through its interiors. Therefore, it aligns with the emirate’s push towards sustainable and smart urban infrastructure. A ground-breaking project, which incorporates advanced technology and margin, is the future of retail and entertainment. It’s worth noting that this project was first announced in 2018. The mall is being described as an indoor city, which would span 2.6 million m².
It’s Currently Under Construction
To be linked to the upcoming Dubai Creek Tower, it is being designed to feature new concepts in shopping, entertainment, mobility, and dining. With a white pedestrian-friendly layout, Gulf News mentions that this would be accessible to electric cars, quoting the post on X. It was previously announced in February 2024 by Emaar that detailed designs for the mall, which has been completed.
The company mentioned how the development would introduce cutting-edge digital systems and AI-driven design tools. So the needs of retailers and visitors are anticipated. Now this mall is a part of the wide urban transformation that’s underway at Dubai Creek Harbour. This is a master plan project that features 7.4 million m² of residential space, pedestrian-friendly streets that are set along Dubai Creek, and half a million square meters of green areas. It seems that once the mall opens, it’s truly going to be the star attraction in this district.
