The Ministry of Commerce and Industry in Kuwait recently cancelled over 1,100 food truck licences. This was done after they found that these trucks were inactive, expired, or they failed to meet the regulatory requirements. The move is a part of the ministry’s integrated plan of cleaning up commercial records and redirecting opportunities to eligible operators. Not to mention, they also aim to strengthen the discipline in the food truck sector.
1,100 Food Truck Licenses Cancelled In Kuwait
Creating a fairer and more sustainable business environment, the regulatory work aims to develop the food truck sector. As revealed in a report of the Kuwait Times, the cancellation of over 1,100 licenses was followed by periodic and ongoing reviews. Additionally, the report also quoted Commerce and Industry Minister Khalifa Al-Ajeel that five new food truck locations will be designated from January 2026.
This is a part of the effort to ensure there is fair special distribution, making oversight and regulation easier. Additionally, sites will also be distributed geographically across several areas of the country. However, the locations are yet to be announced.

Farwaniya Municipality Also Lifts Seven Mobile Food Trucks
As it happens, Farwaniya Municipality also lifted seven mobile food trucks for violating municipal regulations. This was done after a comprehensive inspection campaign took place in the governorate. The impounded food and drugs were related to the designated site in coordination with the Ministry of Interior. As it happens, the effort is being taken to maintain public order and protect road safety. Not to mention, it also aims to preserve the environmental and health standards across the governorate.
So, with the government organisation actively partaking in regulating the food truck network across the country, one can be assured that it’s bound to be a fair environment for everybody.
