Kuwait: Ramadan Working Hours Announced For Public Offices!

Ramadan is just a few days away Civil Service Commission has announced the official working hours for the government entities. Yes, this has been announced for the holy month of Ramadan, which announces shorter shifts and flexible start times for public employees. Here’s all you need to know about this development in the country.

Ramadan Office Hours For Public Offices In Kuwait

As revealed in the report of the Gulf News, which quoted the state agency KUNA, the official daily for public offices working hours will be four and a half hours during the month of Ramadan. Not to mention, there will be flexible morning hours, attendance, and employees will be permitted to start between 8:30 AM and 10:30 AM.

15 Min Grace Period For Female Employees

Moreover, entities operating evening shifts, their staff must also complete four and a half hours of duty. This rule includes a 15-minute grace period at the start of this shift, along with a 15-minute grace period at the end of the shift for female employees.

It should be noted that the evening shift during Ramadan must not begin before 6:45 PM. Therefore, all government bodies have been urged to ensure that there is compliance with the approved schedule.

1,700 Mosques Being Prepared for Ramadan

This development from Kuwait comes just days after it was announced that 1,700 mosques are being prepared to welcome worshippers during the holy month. Yes, these 1,700 mosques, which are located across the six governorates of the country, will welcome worshippers during the fasting month.

The scope of work includes completion, maintenance, ensuring regular servicing, thorough cleaning, and preparation of women’s prayer halls and the external courtyard. Moreover, maintenance teams, as per the other report of the Gulf News, will be on duty around the clock throughout the month.
