Travel insurance is an important part of travel documents that one needs for their international trips. It ensures that a person is covered in case of any mishap during the journey in strange lands. And Policybazaar.ae recently revealed that there has been a substantial increase in the number of queries for insurance for quarter four of 2025. This is in comparison to the same period last year.
Rise In Travel Insurance Amongst Travellers
As there is a rise in travel demand among people with the UAE National Day, Christmas, New Year’s and long school break in December, travel insurance has also seen a rise. There is, as a result, an increase in the number of people undertaking outbound travel. Not to mention, with growing awareness and preference among UAE residents who wish to safeguard their journeys, travel insurance has also seen a sharp rise.
48% Increase In Inbound Travellers
Coming to the most popular destinations for UAE residents, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Germany, Armenia, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, and the United States remain at the top. As it happens, there is a 48% increase also being seen by Policybazaar.ae for inbound travellers. Yes, especially those who are visiting the UAE, they have also opted to secure their travel insurance through the platform. This shows a growing global demand for UAE tourism as it is supported by some of the most iconic international events, new attractions and cultural experiences.

Reason Behind The Increase In Travel Insurance Demand
The rise in travel insurance is also being shaped by the evolving traveller behaviour. With an increased interest in unique and nature-led activities or adventure, these are being deemed as motivators. Additionally, solo travel continues to grow in popularity with there being a significant rise in women travellers purchasing insurance for their independent trips.
One of the most common claims that are filed during the season includes delays, flight cancellations, medical emergencies, and even lost luggage. With recent geopolitical developments, some have even opted for higher-end and more comprehensive policies. Additionally, social media has also become a vital tool, which has helped in planning and influencing destination choices.
So, with travellers today being far more aware of the need for such insurance, it’s not surprising that there has been a rise in the queries for travel insurance.
