Oman Air Increases Economy Baggage Allowance On India And Cairo Routes; Details Inside

Oman Air travellers will soon have a less stressful experience when packing. Oman Air has declared significant changes to its Economy Class fare packages, such as increased check-in baggage allowances on a number of its busy international destinations. The decision follows a high level of customer demand and is part of the broader drive by the airline to enhance the passenger experience in various fare categories.

Oman Air Increases Economy Baggage Allowance Over Major International Routes

Travellers heading to destinations all around the Indian subcontinent, as well as Cairo, Manila, Dar es Salaam, Baghdad and Zanzibar, will now have the added baggage benefits based on the type of ticket they hold.

The airlines are attempting to modify services to suit the demands of the low-end traveller who still wishes to remain flexible and comfortable.

Increased Baggage Quota For Economy Travellers

The passengers who book the Super Saver fare can now carry up to 20kg of baggage on selected routes. This fare used to include cabin baggage only.

The travellers who buy the Comfort fare will now enjoy a baggage allowance of 30 kg, and Flex fare customers can carry up to 40kg.

To a large number of passengers travelling between the Gulf and South Asian regions, additional baggage is an issue. These changes may make a significant difference in families, students and long-stay travellers, who tend to have more than a short-haul tourist does.

Oman Air Increases Flexible Travel

The airline has also launched a number of new travel-related features this year.

In 2026, earlier, Oman Air introduced a cancel-for-any-reason option for Super Saver tickets. It has also enhanced its travel insurance services to allow passengers greater flexibility prior to travelling.

According to the Muscat Daily, since the airline launched its fare bundle system in 2024, it has proceeded to expand personalised travel options.

The current range of add-on services: passengers have the option of over 10 add-ons at the time of booking, such as priority boarding, airport fast-track access, extra legroom seats and extra baggage.
