Ras Al Khaimah’s biggest hospitality project now has a front door on the water. Wynn Al Marjan Island has unveiled Wynn Marina, a 98-berth superyacht marina planned as the sea gateway to the resort, which is scheduled to open in September 2027.
What The Marina Will Offer
The marina will host super and megayachts of up to 85 metres. Wynn says it will have room for more yachts and larger ones, than any hotel-attached marina in the UAE.
At its centre sits a circular harbour, with berths laid out in a radial pattern inside a protected basin up to five metres deep. Wynn says the layout will be visible from the resort’s rooms, terraces, restaurants and promenades, so guests can watch yachts come and go as the sun sets over the Arabian Gulf.
Marina Solutions International is designing the facility, while Fort Lauderdale-based IGY Marinas will operate it as Wynn’s marina partner. Wynn Al Marjan Island President Max Tappeiner described the marina as “an integral part of the destination” rather than just somewhere to berth a yacht.
How Arrivals Will Work
A building called the Capitainerie will be the arrival point and operations hub, bringing marina management, guest services, concierge support and captain and crew services under one roof.
Yacht guests will be able to check in onboard and move straight into the resort’s accommodation, dining, entertainment, wellness and retail. Owners, charter guests and crew can also arrange restaurant bookings, transport, provisioning and onboard celebrations.
Not Just For Yacht Owners
Wynn says the marina will also work as a waterfront leisure spot for hotel guests, with dining beside the harbour, promenades and views of arriving yachts. It will connect with the resort’s Marina and Ocean Estates, and the waterfront can host events, including wedding arrivals by yacht.
The Bigger Picture
Wynn Al Marjan Island is planned to have 1,530 rooms and suites, 22 restaurants, lounges and bars, a theatre, a beach club, a five-star spa and a shopping promenade. Wynn describes it as the first integrated gaming resort in the UAE.
In August, the company confirmed the estimated construction cost had risen by $600 million to about $5.7 billion, and held to the September 2027 opening. The marina follows reveals of private townhomes, two seven-bedroom Royal Apartments in the 70-storey Resort Tower, and a 550-metre beachfront.
For Ras Al Khaimah, the resort is a key part of its push to attract higher-value international visitors.
