Historically Linked To Ayyam Al Husum

In fact, it is during the period of Ayyam Al Husum, which is an eight-day stretch observed historically by Arabs. As such, it is also called the old women’s days. It is known for strong winds and lingering cold conditions, which often accompany the transition from winter to spring.

With the appearance of the star, the period has historically been linked to agricultural activity. This includes planting palm shoots and citrus seedlings, and even pruning fig trees. It is also the start of the grapevine growth after the winter dormancy.

So, with the star appearing in the sky, it marks a shift in the weather of the UAE towards mild nights and warm days.
