It’s no secret that Saudi Arabia has been receiving moderate to heavy rainfall across the region. However, the National Centre for Meteorology has now revealed in its latest forecast that heavy rainfall may continue across the regions of the kingdom. Yes, these moderate to heavy thunderstorms are even capable of triggering flash floods, and here’s all you need to know about the updated weather report for Saudi Arabia.

Heavy Rain To Continue In Saudi Arabia?

As Saudi Arabia reels under moderate to heavy rainfall across several regions, it is expected to continue as per the latest forecast of the National Centre of Meteorology. Yes, these moderate to heavy thunderstorms are even capable of triggering flash floods, as revealed in the report of the Gulf News, which quoted the National Centre of Meteorology. Not only this, it could also be accompanied by hail and strong winds that are expected over several places. Yes, these are expected over Makkah, Qasim, Riyadh, Madinah, the Eastern Province, and the Northern Border.

Latest NCM Update

Not only this, it is also expected to cause light to moderate rain in parts of Hail, Tabuk, and Al Jouf. Moreover, this could also be across areas of the kingdom’s Southwestern Highlands. In fact, some regions might also experience patches of fog, as further mentioned in the report. With the conditions being moderate to rough, thunderstorms and rainfall are expected near the Bab Al Mandeb Strait.

Coming to the Arabian Gulf, winds are expected to blow Southeasterly to Southerly at 10 to 35 km/h. And so, there are also chances for it to strengthen to more than 60 km/h. In fact, wave heights may also reach half a metre to one, and even rise to 2 and 1/2 m in a few places.

And make sure to steer clear of the valleys in order to avoid flash floods that might be triggered by such heavy rainfall.
