Due to the unstable weather conditions, Sharjah City Municipality has announced the immediate closure of public parks and the medical fitness centres. This is an immediate closure, which comes as part of the precautionary measures, and it ensures public safety during the current weather conditions.
Sharjah Shuts All City Parks Due To Unstable Weather Conditions
As revealed in a report of the Gulf News, all the city parks have been shut until the weather conditions stabilise. The officials have mentioned that they will reopen once it is safe to do so. Not to mention, the municipality also confirmed that all the medical fitness centres would remain closed on Monday, March 23rd. This will happen until further notice. As it happens, people have also been advised to follow the official channels for updates regarding the resumption of services.
The development comes as the Sharjah Government Media Bureau also reassured residents that sounds that are associated with the current unstable weather are natural. So those sounds, including thunder, are expected as the UAE is experiencing heavy rainfall. These sounds are typical during severe weather conditions and therefore should not be a cause of concern, as mentioned by the bureau in a public statement.

Flash Flood Warnings Issued By NCM
Residents have also been urged to brace for the unstable weather in the UAE this week. Heavy rains have not hit just Sharjah, but also Dubai. The municipality has also activated the emergency plan as a response to the impact of heavy rainfall. Moreover, the UAE has called for urgent safety measures at work sites. The National Centre of Meteorology has also issued flash flood warnings for some mountains for today.
It’s worth noting that Abu Dhabi Police has also urged delivery motorcycle riders to suspend riding and delivery services. This is during the period of unstable weather, especially during rainfall. It is a part of their effort to enhance road safety and reduce accidents.
So, it is advisable that people, if they are venturing out, must be careful, and they must take note of the weather conditions before they do so.
