After all, there are three super moons that will be happening in three months, and it also includes the biggest one of the year!

3 Super Moons And Meteor Showers To Occur In The UAE

As revealed in a report by the Khaleej Times, stargazers in the UAE will get to watch some of the most exquisite celestial events in the last three months of the year. This includes three super moons, including the biggest one of the year as well. For those who aren’t aware, a super moon is an event when the full moon occurs at the same time that it is at its closest point to Earth.

As such, the event will allow stargazers in the UAE to watch the celestial treat. When the super moon occurs, the moon will be 14% bigger and 30% brighter. But that’s not all! There will even be meteor showers, with significant ones expected to make an appearance.

Coming to the super moon, the first one will be taking place on October 7th. The Hunter’s Moon will fill up the UAE skies, and you will want to stay trained, looking towards the sky to watch this fantastic event. The next super moon, called the Beaver Moon, will happen on November 5th. Since it coincides with the time when beavers are preparing for winter, it therefore earns this name. December 5th will be the date when the Cold Moon, and the final super moon for the year, happens. As the name suggests, this will be happening in the month which is known for the coldest and the longest nights.

Three Meteor Showers To Occur As Well

Coming to the meteor showers, the first one is called the Orionids Meteor Shower, which will happen on October 21st. These often leave a glowing trail in the sky, and they go at a speed of 66 km/s. The Leonids Meteor Shower will happen on November 17th, and UAE residents can only see around 10 to 15 meteors per hour. Finally, on December 14th, the Geminids Meteor Shower will happen, and UAE residents might be able to see as many as up to 120 meteors per hour.

If you also wish to watch the celestial phenomenon, you can simply visit an open area that has an unobstructed view by either pollution or street lights. And deserts and beaches are perfect for such viewing. So, mark your calendars to watch these beautiful celestial events.
