1. Robolox To Be Banned In Kuwait

Kuwait’s Minister of Information recently asked the Ministry of Communications to ban Roblox. This is an online game which is being banned due to its potential dangers to children. The decision comes after repeated complaints from the public, who argue that the game contradicts moral values and social norms. The game has already been banned in countries like Qatar, Oman, China, and Turkey.

2. Oman Hit By Minor Earthquake

Early morning on August 21, at 5:13 AM (UAE time), Oman’s Madha felt tremors of an earthquake. The 2.2 magnitude earthquake reviewed by the National Centre of Meteorology was recorded at a depth of 5 km. Although it’s worth noting that these tremors were felt in the UAE and had no impact on the residents.

3. ADAFSA Shut Down Taj Alzumuruda Restaurant

The Abu Dhabi Agriculture Food and Safety Authority recently decided to administratively close Alzumuruda Restaurant, which is located in Al Ain. It was in violation of Law No. (2) of 2008 on food safety in the emirate. Not to mention, the restaurants were given several warnings about food safety violations, which were found by inspectors. As they failed to comply with the order to make any corrections, the authority decided to shut the restaurant, and corrective measures were taken.

4. Flexible Work Timings Announced For Government Employees

Students return to school for the academic year 2025, and government employees have been given flexibility on the first day. The flexibility in attendance and departure has been given according to the system, which is in place with the reopening of schools.

5. Youth Cultural Summit To Be Hosted At Etihad Museum

Dubai Culture and Arts Authority is hosting a Youth Cultural Summit at Etihad Museum with Sandooq Al Watan. The event is going to take place on August 26, which aims to showcase the contributions of young professionals. This will be the cultural sector, and the event will serve as a platform for dialogue, collaboration and exchange. Celebrating the role of the next generation and their role in shaping the culture of Dubai, it’s definitely worth attending.

6. UAE Issues Dust Alert

A yellow alert has been declared for the UAE on August 21, and it’s expected to be dusty. In fact, it’s also predicted that high winds of up to 40kph could cover the area from Sila to Al Ain. And so, people are advised to be careful while partaking in outdoor activities.
