As revealed in a report of the Gulf News, the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism has mentioned these steps that must be taken in situations where evacuation procedures come into effect. However, one must follow these instructions carefully to avoid any confusion and to be prepared in case of an emergency.
What Are These Guidelines?
The instructions given are as follows:
- If the evacuation alarm sounds, one must leave the building with the help of the nearest and safest fire exit route.
- One must follow the guidance of the building staff and emergency teams while leaving the building.
- When leaving, one must leave the doors closed, but they must not lock them.
- One must avoid elevators and use the staircase wherever possible
- One must not delay evacuation in order to collect personal belongings.
- People must remain at the assembly area until they are advised otherwise by the authorities or emergency personnel.
- In case someone is missing, they must be reported immediately to the security emergency personnel on the site or the building management.

One must follow the guidance of the emergency response team in order to maintain the safety of others and of themselves.
