Mohan Babu Talks About His Memories With PM Modi, Cooking Skills & More Over Sunday Brunch With Kamiya Jani

Our latest episode of Sunday Brunch was supremely special because our Editor-in-Chief, Kamiya Jani, met with none other than the legendary Telugu actor, Mohan Babu, at his beautiful 5-acre bungalow in Hyderabad. Telugu cinema’s most revered icon, he shared all about his journey to success, his friendship with superstar Rajinikanth, his humble beginnings working as a physical education teacher, and a lot more. From his favourite cuisines to dishes that he can cook to the struggles he faced in his early life, Mohan Babu was candid about all of it. And what made this episode even more special was that she didn’t speak in Telugu, and he didn’t know any Hindi, but this episode was truly beyond languages.

We Got A Tour Of Mohan Babu’s House

The episode started with a tour of his palatial home, where Mohan Babu revealed that he was involved in the construction of this house every step of the way. He believes that cleanliness is godliness, and that is exactly what he wanted his house to represent. While taking a tour, Kamiya jokingly asked Mohan Babu, “What is more difficult, shooting a fighting sequence or finding the TV remote in this house?” Laughing, Mohan Babu shared that this is a very good question, and he believes that shooting is very, very easy when compared to finding the remote.

Over a hot cup of coffee, Mohan Babu also revealed the two qualities in himself that bring him a lot of trouble. First is his straightforwardness, and second is his short temper. While he likes being straightforward and wouldn’t want to change it, his short temper is something that he has actively worked on to try to improve.

Mohan Babu has worked in over 500 movies to date and has produced about 60 or 70 of them. Does he feel tense when they are released, wondering if they will be a hit or not? Well, he revealed that every movie brings him tension except for a few, about which he is 100% confident that there was no mistake made and they will be a hit.

His Friendship With Superstar Rajinikanth

During the conversation, Mohan Babu also shed light on his friendship with superstar Rajinikanth. Calling him a beautiful and good person, he revealed that he has known him for over 50 years, and he is his ultimate best friend. In fact, both of them met each other at a railway station in Madras when they were struggling in life. And even today, their friendship is so strong that they talk to each other at least four times a day. True friendship goals, right?

Not just Rajinikanth, Mohan Babu also shares a special relationship with our Honourable Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In fact, the first time he met him was even before he became the prime minister. Mohan Babu showed confidence in him and told him that he was definitely going to become the prime minister. He even promised him that once he finally takes the PM office, he will meet him again to give him a hug.

Before we sat for the meal, we got a sneak peek into the workings of the kitchen, where he revealed that he decides every day what his chefs are going to cook for him. In fact, he is so particular about his meals that he sometimes even travels with them. With sheer joy reflecting on his face, he revealed that he is really fond of Chinese and Thai cuisines. He is not just a foodie, but he can also cook some dishes like mutton, chicken, and sambar.

When we finally sat for the Sunday brunch, banana leaves were laid out and Mohan Babu revealed that he prefers to eat only on banana leaves and not in regular plates because he believes that it is good for his health.
