Led by Moscow City Tourism Committee Chairman Evgeny Kozlov, the proposed travel agreement aims to boost the tourism sector and connectivity between India and Russia. Concerned departments of both these nations are currently discussing the launch of the visa-free travel initiative. Updates on the specific number of travellers allowed to travel together without visas are yet to be announced.

India is a significant market for Russian tourism with the second-most tourist footfall from a far-abroad nation. After China, India stands second in the list of tourist sources to Russia. Evgeny Kozlov discussed our nation’s contribution to Russia’s travel sector. As shared by the Chairman, each Indian visitor spends about $2,000 (approx. ₹1,73,120) while holidaying in this international country.

With the visa-free travel initiative, a group of globetrotters from India can explore Russia conveniently, without a visa. This foreign country has a similar arrangement with China, allowing 10 to 20 travellers to travel together. Right now, Indian passport holders can experience the benefits of visa-free travel in 62 countries.
