For more inspirational stories of this Mothers Day 2019, Three Indian mothers drove from Delhi to London and covered 11 countries towards their final destination in just 97 days.

What Is It?

Rashmi Koppar, Dr Soumya Goyal and Nidhi Tiwari are the names of the empowering women who recently drove 21,477 km from Delhi to London by road. The car was driven by Nidhi Tiwari throughout the journey who has previously done a lot of off-road jeep drives. She was also the one who came up with the idea and her friends instantly agreed, to experience the amazing thrill of driving through different terrains.

What Else?

The women decided to take a sabbatical leave from their respective jobs and began their journey in June which came to an end in October. The trip was sponsored by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Ministry of External Affairs, Mahindra First Choice Wheels, Lenovo India, Via.com, Round Table India Area 6, M.S. Ramaiah Memorial Hospital, Social Empowerment by Empowering Women SEEW, and Tea Trails India.

These ladies traversed several terrains and crossed 11 countriesMyanmar, China, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Russia, Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Czech Republic, Germany, Belgium, France and the UK.

 

Yashasvi Shaktawat: The curiosity to explore unseen places, meet new people, interact with locals, and unravel every culture is what intrigues Yashasvi the most. She is an adventure junkie who might look timid but, is ready to take on any challenge. She doesn’t believe in having a bucket list and instead, living life as it comes, one day at a time. The centrepiece of her jigsaw puzzle is travelling, writing and collecting as many adventures as she can in her happy jar.
