The richest man in India, Mukesh Ambani, has added another aircraft, Boeing BBJ MAX 9 to his already existing massive fleet of private jets. This latest arrival is touted to be the most expensive private jet owned by a business tycoon yet. It is also the first of its kind to arrive in India. This particular private jet is valued at more than ₹1,000 crore. Here are all of the other important details that you would need to know about this private jet.
Mukesh Ambani Buys The First Boeing BBJ MAX 9 In India
According to an article which was recently published by India.com, this private jet arrived in India after many modifications and test flights. If reports are to go by, the private jet arrived in India on August 27, 2024, and is currently at the Indira Gandhi International Airport.
Prior to its delivery, the modifications were done in Switzerland at the EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg or BSL. The jet was there since April 13, 2023, before being transported to Delhi. As per the article, the jet completed as many as six flights between Basel, Geneva and London Luton Airports.
Valued at $118.5 million dollars, it is easily one of the most expensive private jets in the world. And this price does not include the cost of modifications and retrofitting. The jet is said to have a larger cargo space as well as cabin space compared to its other predecessors.

You may or may not be surprised to learn that this is not the only private jet that Ambani. Reliance Industries has as many as ten jets. In addition to this, they also own two helicopters for short-distance travel.
Whether this decision is environment-friendly cannot be said. Jet fuel emissions are one of the biggest contributors to air pollution and their negative impact should not be underestimated.
