Welcome to Paradox — South Mumbai’s Bold New Cocktail Bar

Nestled in the historic Shakti Mills Lane, in the heart of Mahalakshmi, Paradox is the latest gem in South Mumbai’s vibrant nightlife. The duo behind Paradox is none other than Aditi and Aditya Dugar, the masterminds behind Masque — India’s #1 restaurant for four consecutive years. Joining them is Ankush Gamre, the Head Mixologist of Masque, now bringing more fire and less restraint to his craft. In his new playground, Gamre embraces contrasts, serving cocktails with unsettling pairings. Paradox is a bold move, designed to raise questions rather than provide answers.

Bold Sips & Playful Bites

With Ankush Gamre behind the bar, the cocktail menu offers bold choices and unexpected pairings that keep you guessing with every sip. The drinks boast unique flavours, and the names don’t disappoint either. Take Cthulhu, a briny, ocean-inspired drink with a hit of citrus. The Prodigal Son is rich, intense, and unapologetically indulgent. The Spice Merchant offers a clever build-up of heat, while Spirited Away is subtle at first, revealing itself slowly with each sip. Every drink here is crafted with serious technique and a great deal of imagination. The more you drink, the more curious you become — it’s a true “Paradox.”

Varun Totlani, also the Head Chef at Masque, leads the kitchen. His dishes are playful, daring, and just a bit rebellious. Expect bold, charred flavours and unexpected combinations: Halloumi with Poha, a surprising yet delicious pairing; PB&J with Pork, where peanut butter meets smoked pork and berry jam; and Bone Marrow on Fire, grilled over flames and best eaten with no fear. Come for the drinks, stay for the food, and leave with a story.

The Space Is An Ode To Mumbai’s Art Deco Legacy

Designed by Ashiesh Shah, the space blends Mumbai’s Art Deco legacy with a fresh, modern twist. You enter through a sleek, glass-lined corridor that also showcases the wine cellar. Upstairs, the atmosphere is cosy and chic, centred around a beautiful wood bar. Downstairs, the energy shifts to a more relaxed vibe, with an open kitchen that invites you in. Details such as hand-embroidered panels, deep green leather, and a secret dining tent add to the charm. The interiors are elegant without being stuffy — classy yet fun.

Paradox isn’t just a bar — it’s an experience. No two nights are the same. One visit won’t be enough because there’s always something new to discover.
