Mumbai Airport & The Millions Of Travellers During Diwali Season
As one of the leading travel hubs, Mumbai Airport is flourishing due to its outstanding quality and efficiency. During the festival of lights, there was a noticeable increase in both domestic and international traffic as travellers rejoiced. Over 3.16 million domestic and 1.25 million international passengers were handled at Mumbai Airport during this time.
Thanks in large part to the expansion of passenger travel alternatives, the airport had a notable increase in air traffic management (ATM) in October, with 19,848 domestic and 7,222 international ATMs. Mumbai Airport witnessed 939 flights, making it the most travelled day of the month with the most ATMs on October 26.

Popular Travel Destinations During Diwali 2024
In October, the Mumbai Airport witnessed a large number of travellers flying to or from three main domestic destinations: Delhi, Bengaluru, and Goa. In terms of the maximum number of travellers, Delhi came first with 0.58 million travellers. The most hyped and popular locations were Dubai, London, and Abu Dhabi. Mumbai’s significance as a vital gateway for both business and leisure travellers is highlighted by the airport’s connections to these important destinations.
Mumbai’s international airport saw a lot of passengers arriving from different countries. However, the top passenger traffic came from the Middle East, Europe, and Asia. Out of the 51% of all international traffic, the Middle East held the largest share, followed by Asia (23%), and Europe (17%). These are the key locations driving international travel, as indicated by the first port of entry from CSMIA. Nok Air’s addition of flights to Don Mueang, Thailand, and Virgin Atlantic’s addition of flights to London, UK, are driving traffic increases in Asia and Europe.
In October, CSMIA demonstrated efficiency in managing high passenger volumes, particularly during the Diwali weekend. It solidifies its standing as a top international centre as it approaches the latter quarter of 2024 by offering unmatched connectivity to locations throughout the world.
The CSMIA maintains excellent service and safety standards while providing top-notch amenities. Have you ever visited Mumbai Airport?
