The diversion was prompted after the airline was informed about the bad weather conditions at the Amritsar Airport on Saturday morning. After almost two hours of waiting at the Chandigarh Airport, the flight continued its journey to Amritsar.
Mumbai-Amritsar Vistara Flight Diverted Mid-Air To Chandigarh
Vistara flight UK695 from Mumbai to Amritsar was diverted to Chandigarh on Saturday. The diversion was made due to bad weather conditions in Amritsar. Keeping the safety of the passengers in mind, the airline decided that the airport was unsafe for landing at that moment. So, they diverted the flight mid-air and made an emergency landing at the Chandigarh Airport at 9 AM.
Vistara took to X (formerly Twitter) to give an update about the diversion and said, “#DiversionUpdate: Flight UK695 from Mumbai to Amritsar (BOM-ATQ) has been diverted to Chandigarh (IXC) due to bad weather at Amritsar airport and is expected to arrive in Chandigarh at 0900 hours. Please stay tuned for further updates.”
Continues Journey After Weather Clears Out
After almost two hours of waiting at the Chandigarh Airport, Vistara’s Mumbai-Amritsar flight took off for the original destination at 10:50 AM. As per their latest update on X (formerly Twitter), the flight landed in Amritsar at 11:25 AM.
According to Times Now, the highest weather expected in Punjab today is 36.25°C and the lowest is 21.67°C. The wind speed is 18 km/h and humidity is low at just 18%. The upcoming days are expected to be better in the state with slightly lower temperatures and more winds.
