The new 180-metre road in the City of Dreams aims to resolve a couple of major traffic issues, especially for commuters who travel here every day. The signal-free road has been opened on December 23, 2024, and the new beginning is expected to reduce traffic congestion on Bandra-Kurla Complex’s arterial road. This new development has been constructed by connecting the MTNL junction and the BKC-Chunabhatti connector.

The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) worked on constructing the new BKC coastal road alongside the Mithi River. The recent development in the city creates an efficient connection between G Block in the central business district and the Eastern Express Highway. This enhanced connectivity is the biggest highlight to cut down overall travel time.

According to a report by Hindustan Times, the road construction project took only six months. Its estimated budget was ₹3.98 crore. The grand news of opening BKC coastal road is a huge relief for thousands of daily commuters as they can reach their destinations in and near BKC faster than before. It aims to ease the process of traffic dispersal to bustling locations such as MCA Club, the MTNL junction, and many consulates.

New offices and establishments are opening in BKC frequently. With new spaces, traffic footfall is seeing an uptick too. Commuters often complain about waiting in traffic in this area for a long time, especially during peak hours.
