Mumbai Dabbawalas To Attend King Charles’s Coronation; Will Gift These Things To The Monarch

King Charles III ascended to the throne after Queen Elizabeth II passed away on 8 September 2022. The Monarch will be coronated formally on 6 May 2023. The gala celebrations will take place in Westminster Abbey and London will be decked up with pomp and glory to mark the official beginning of a new Monarch. For the coronation, the British Consulate and British Embassy have invited people from different corners of the world and Mumbai dabbawalas are on their guest list.

Mumbai Dabbawalas Are Flying To London To Attend The Coronation Of King Charles III

The dabbawalas were spotted in the city on Tuesday while they were buying presents for the Monarch. They are all set to travel across the borders and witness the coronation ceremony. According to a report by Hindustan Times, Vishnu Kaldoke, the Mumbai dabbawalas spokesperson shared how they have a good relationship with the British royal family. Interestingly, this is not the first time that dabbawalas are getting an invitation from the royal members. Vishnu Kaldoke shared that the British royal family invited two of them to the wedding of King Charles III with Camilla Parker-Bowles.

The celebrations are surely going to be grander than ever. With the opulence and royalty of London reflecting all around the city, people will get to witness the royal side of the city. This formal coronation will mark the beginning of a new era and a new Monarch. The celebrations begin tomorrow and we can already imagine the lakhs of people circling all around the city to witness the magnificence of all the events.

What Are They Gifting The Monarch?

Dabbawalas were shopping for King Charles III yesterday. They are all ready to attend the iconic coronation of the King and present some beautiful gifts to him. They purchased a Puneri Pagadi and a Shawl of the Warkari community for King Charles III. Puneri Pagadi is a turban and it represents the pride of Pune.
