All You Need To Know About This New Park
Spread across eight hectares, the Gorai Mangrove Park will be a significant ecological and educational space in Mumbai. Offering the people in the city a chance to experience nature and educate themselves about the mangrove ecosystem and its biodiversity, this new park will have mangrove trails and a bird observatory.
Reports suggest that it will have a touch-based information system offering virtual reality content focused on the flora and fauna of mangrove ecosystems. The project has been conceived and executed with an eco-sensitive approach. To ensure minimal impact on the mangrove environment, not a single mangrove tree was cut during the construction. Instead, they have been seamlessly incorporated into the design, ensuring the park enhances and protects the natural habitat rather than disturbing it. A 740-metre-long boardwalk has been constructed in the park and it passes through the mangrove forest.
