Mumbai: Insta Page Under Fire For Posting Couple Videos Without Consent; Netizens, “New Day, New Low”

A Reddit user has brought an Instagram page into the spotlight for posting private couple videos in Mumbai that have been allegedly shot without consent. The post has since sparked widespread outrage on multiple platforms, with many calling it a “new low” of public decency.

Instagram Page Post Private Couple Videos In Mumbai

A Reddit post by @InstaCelebGossips, titled “This page is creepily recording couples and uploading their videos”, has raised serious concerns after it highlighted how the Instagram account @mahim_update_ has been posting videos of couples, filmed without consent. The page has been active for the last three days and has been posting videos of couples engaging in public displays of affection. They have been, reportedly, recorded around Mumbai’s Mahim area.

The Instagram account already has over 2,000 followers and four videos. Netizens strongly criticised the page, voicing outrage over the disturbing practice of filming couples without consent and raising serious concerns about the violation of privacy.

“Whatever you may think of PDA, but using a hidden cam to record couples and upload these videos on Instagram to monetise or fetishise the videos is another level of creepy,” one of the netizens commented on the post.

Another said, “New day, new low.”

“There are many pages who are recording couples and women at public places, and even if you report it, they come back with another account. The reach for such reels is staggering, plus the comment section is way worse than we can imagine,” another user shared the disturbing reality.

Similar Incident Reported In Bengaluru In May

Hindustan Times reported that in May 2025, a similar incident was reported in Bengaluru. An Instagram account was secretly posting videos of women in the Bengaluru metro, which, again, were filmed without consent. What was shocking was that the account had almost 5,000 followers.

The account was named @metro_chicks, and as per the latest update, it is not available any longer on Instagram. Back then, many netizens reported the account and called it a “gross violation of dignity and safety.”
