It was on Monday that the plan for this project got approval from the Maharashtra government. We have grown up watching vast parks surrounded by trees and plants in London and New York City in movies and now our city is gearing up to become the home to a similar massive spark stretching over a huge area. According to a report by The Times of India, the state government will provide the land to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) and then BMC will oversee the process of constructing the project.
Known as the Mumbai Central Park, the public park will be developed on 120 acres of the 211-acre Mahalaxmi Racecourse. An underground tunnel is a part of the project and is being built underneath the Coastal Road. According to a report by Times Now News, this will be connected to this public park.
There are many expectations with this ambitious project. Mumbaikars will get a natural scenic place to chill, enjoy, and feel the freshness of nature’s aura in between the hustle and bustle of the city. Once done, it will also be one of the largest open spaces in the entire city. The visions of developing and beautifying the public park are on the lines of global standards such as the iconic ones in London and New York.
