In India, road accidents have become a big problem. This year has seen a number of major road adversities, including collisions and accidents. However, a major tragedy got averted in Mumbai today. An accident took place in Mumbai’s Malad when a part of the main road allegedly caved in. This led to a truck getting overturned, which caused significant damage to two scooters that were parked there, as reported by mid-day.

Details About The Road Accident In Mumbai’s Malad

The incident occurred in Malad’s Evershine Nagar during the afternoon hours. As per the officials, no one was hurt in this incident, and the civic authorities reached the spot in time to carry out relief operations.

The driver lost control and overturned the vehicle when it was travelling on the main road close to a busy residential and commercial complex. A portion of the road unexpectedly caved, causing the vehicle to topple over. However, the driver luckily escaped unharmed, but the overturned truck crushed two scooters that were parked on the roadside.

An official stated that neither buses nor children were there at the time. The neighbourhood is well-known for its busy activity and is close to a school and a major bus route that is served by the Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) buses.

Even a local resident shared pictures of the accident and asked the authorities to take necessary action against the truck driver and the road contractor. To this, the Mumbai Traffic Police replied that they had informed the traffic division to take necessary action.

The Mumbai Suburban Railway’s Western line passes through the North Mumbai suburb of Malad. The Western Line tracks separate it into West and East. A sizable Marathi community resides in Malad, which also has a notable office complex behind Inorbit Mall and Infiniti Mall.

Malad has a population of about 946,000, plus an extra 100,000 daytime floating residents. It is located in the city’s most populous ward, P-North, which is primarily made up of Marathi people from the rich and upper middle classes.
