The first phase of the Mumbai Metro Aqua Line is all set to be inaugurated by tomorrow. The Prime Minister of the country, Narendra Modi, will flag off the service and be the first to ride on it. This will be the very first underground metro in Mumbai and the second in the Indian state of Maharashtra. Here are all of the other important details that you would need to know about this inauguration.
Mumbai Metro Aqua Line: Train Every Six Minutes And Fares Starting At ₹10
According to an article which was recently published by The Free Press Journal or the FPJ, this particular metro line will have a headway of 6.4 minutes. This means that there will be a train at the station every six minutes. What is more, it will run as many as 96 trains daily.
One train is capable of carrying a whopping 2,500 passengers at a time. This Phase One connects Aarey to the Jogeshwari Vikhroli Link Road or JVLR. The fares for this line start at ₹10, the highest being ₹50.
The train will ply from 6:30 AM to 10:30 PM. On Sundays, it will ply from 8:30 AM to 10:30 PM. The train will ply across a total of ten stations. These are Aarey, MIDC, SEEPZ, Marol Naka, CSMIA T1, Sahar Road, CSMIA T2, Vidyanagari, Dharavi, and BKC.
Other Important Details To Know About This
The second phase of the Mumbai metro line 3 is estimated to be completed by June in 2025. However, it is estimated that by February 2025, the route will be extended to Acharya Atre Chowk in Worli when the station is ready.
The total cost of the project is a mind-boggling ₹37,275.92 crore! This phase of the project is widely anticipated and many are looking forward to its unveiling.
