Maharashtra Assembly Election 2024 will be held on November 20. Voting will take place between 7 AM and 6 PM across the state. Keeping the elections in mind, Mumbai and Navi Mumbai traffic police have issued traffic advisories for these areas to ensure smooth traffic flow during the voting time. Read on to know all about the diversions, restrictions, and routes to avoid.

Mumbai Traffic Police Issues Advisory In The City

Mumbai Traffic Police took to X (formerly Twitter) to announce that several roads in the city will be completely closed to all vehicles during the elections. According to the social media post, due to the strong room at Kirol Road, Vidyavihar, the road from Vidayavihar Junction to Dr B. R. Ambedkar Chowk will be closed till midnight on November 19 for all vehicles, except ones assigned for election work.

Also, because of the Strong Room at Dr Antonia D’silva High School in Dadar, there will be no vehicular movement or parking allowed on Rao Bahadur S.K. Bole Marg, Ashok Vruksh Road, Ranade Road, and Dyanmandir Road till November 24. However, the local public would be allowed on these roads.

Restrictions In Navi Mumbai For Smooth Election Process

Coming to Navi Mumbai, a traffic advisory has been issued for Airoli, Belapur, Panvel, and Uran constituencies till November 23. As per India TV News, here are the traffic advisories for these areas –

1. For Belapur, all vehicular movement is prohibited from Vajrani Signal on Palm Beach Road to Ramji Balu Bhagat Chowk and the service road parallel to Palm Beach Road from Vajrani Sports Club to Health Juice Center.
2. For Airoli, no vehicle movement is allowed from Poonam Sweets at Sector 5 to Jankibai Madhvi Hall Road. The traffic will be diverted to Bhaskar Ghadi Maidan Road using the road in front of the petrol pump in Airoli Sector 4.
3. For Panvel, all roads towards Kalsekar College via Thana Naka, roads from Kalamboli Circle towards D Point, and roads from JNPT Road at the Karnala Cut towards Kalsekar College will be closed for traffic.
4. For Uran, heavy vehicle movement is restricted on the Dighoda to Dastan Phata Road. Also, vehicles from Dighoda towards Dastan Phata will be rerouted via Dighoda Jambhulpada – Jungle Cut.
