There’s a group of cops popularly known as Sahyadri Shilledaar Prathisthaan who go for treks in Maharashtra to promote the idea of a clean and healthy environment. Also, to raise awareness regarding nature conservation, they conduct regular clean-up drives. The group includes cops from Mumbai and Thane.
Mumbai, Thane Cops Went On Trek At Kalsubai Trek In Maharashtra
Recently, the police group went on a trek at Kalsubai peak, which is the highest trekking point in Maharashtra. The one-year-old cop’s group includes 29 police officers. They covered a distance of 1,646 meters in 3 days, from 11th October to 14th October. To save mother nature, these cops undertake cleanup drives at dirty tourist places in Maharashtra.

Kalsubai Mountain is located in the Sahyadri Mountains — part of the Kalsubai Harishchandragadh Wildlife Sanctuary. Kalsubai is the highest peak in the state. Nestled in Ahmednagar district. It offers beautiful views. However, the beautiful trek is loaded with trash all around— Plastic bottles, wrappers, slippers, plastic polyethene, and much more. So, it’s every trekker’s responsibility to clean the trash.
Earlier Sangam Pratishthan, an NGO that works on environmental issues also conducted a cleanup drive on the Kalsubai trek. According to Ecopurple, they collected around 6 sack bags full of garbage. Hence, if you’re visiting this trek point in the near future, make sure to carry your own garbage bags. This will definitely help mother nature heal.

Is Trekking At Kalsubai Easy?
Yes, the difficulty level of the Kalsubai trek is not really high. Experienced folks can cover the distance in a maximum of 1 or 1.5 days. As it is widely famous, steel railings, ladders, and chains are also present at the site which can lower the difficulty level.

The cost of the trek without any transport is ₹900 per person and with a vehicle is ₹1400 per person.
