The maximum temperature in Mumbai is expected to reach 31° Celsius. Meanwhile, the minimum temperature will likely settle at around 26° Celsius. These temperatures are typical for this time of year, offering some relief from the intense heat usually experienced in the summer months.

Mumbai’s coastline will see significant tidal activity today. A high tide of approximately 3.85 metres is expected at 3.16 pm, according to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC). This high tide could potentially worsen any flooding caused by the rain. Residents and visitors near coastal areas are advised to exercise caution. Later in the day, a low tide of about 1.31 metres is predicted at 9.15 pm. This shift in tides could ease some of the waterlogging issues in low-lying areas.

Smooth Traffic Across The City

The morning commute in Mumbai has seen some slow-moving traffic, particularly on the Bandra southbound railway bridge, Tata Power Mankhurd, and the Kumbharwada to Sion Hospital road. Despite these spots of congestion, traffic is flowing smoothly across most of the city. For those relying on public transport, it’s reassuring to note that both Central Railway and Western Railway report that trains are running without any disruptions. This consistency in train services provides a reliable alternative for commuters looking to avoid road traffic during the rains.

Rain in Mumbai often leads to waterlogged streets and traffic snarls, creating challenges for daily commuters. Although the rains are expected to be moderate, it’s advisable to check for updates on road conditions before heading out. The possibility of waterlogging in low-lying areas remains a concern, especially during the high tide later in the afternoon.

Given the weather conditions, Mumbaikars should consider carrying umbrellas or raincoats when stepping out. Motorists should be cautious on slippery roads, and it’s wise to avoid waterlogged areas if possible. The BMC and other civic bodies are likely to be on high alert, monitoring the situation closely to respond to any issues that may arise.
