It was recently revealed that the MAMI Mumbai Film Festival will not be held in 2025. However, a revamped version will be making its return in 2026. MAMI Mumbai Film Festival is organised by the Mumbai Academy of Moving Image, and the promise is to return with a new logo and approach. Here’s all you need to know about this major update!

MAMI Mumbai Film Festival To Return In 2026

As revealed in a report by The Indian Express, a new version of the festival will be making its return in 2026. It will, however, extend its support to independent cinema. As a result, it’s bound to create more ways of engaging with the host city, Mumbai, better. For those who aren’t aware, this is a decade-old festival, which has been happening in Mumbai since 1997.

New Dates To Be Revealed Soon

However, due to the ongoing revamp process, it will be skipping this year. New dates for the 2026 edition will be announced super soon, and it is bound to strengthen the festival. It was also mentioned in the report, however, that the festival, which was held the previous year, happened on a smaller scale. This took place at the Regal Cinema Hall and PVR Juhu after Jio withdrew its support.

Not to mention, this festival has emerged as a hub for the best of contemporary world cinema. With there being a focus on South Asian cinema, the new edition is going to return stronger. In fact, it is going to return with a new logo and approach! You can certainly expect this much-loved festival to make a return once again next year. For those of you who are still unaware, the festival has hosted some of the most renowned names in the industry. We are talking about Kiran Rao, Shabana Azmi, and Manoj Bajpayee, to name a few famous celebrities.
