Rajkummar Rao is known for his phenomenal performances, but the dedication he brings to each role deserves a special mention. While many were recently concerned about his changed appearance, it turns out the actor was simply doing what he does best—fully transforming himself to fit his next character. He has gained nearly 10 kg for his upcoming biopic, Nikam. The film is a biopic of Indian advocate Ujjwal Nikam. After this, he will begin his shoot for the Sourav Ganguly biopic.
Clarifying all speculations, he took to Instagram and shared, “My being is through my Art. I just finished shooting for my next biopic, Nikam, and yes, it has demanded that I change physically, which I love doing. I’m not a believer in prosthetics as long as I can achieve the look through my hard work, which I’ve achieved in Nikam–be it gaining weight or looking old (to play a certain age) or to make my hair thin, which my hairstylist was very much against.”

What Did He Eat To Gain Nearly 10 Kgs?
Rajkummar Rao went on to share that he has drastically transformed for roles in the past as well. Whether it was going half-bald and gaining weight for Bose: Dead/Alive or shedding a significant amount of weight for Trapped, he happily did what the role demanded. Staying true to his craft, he has now put on nearly 10 kg for his upcoming film.
“For Nikam, I had to gain around 9-10 kgs, and I was eating 2 pizzas and a lot of sweets and my fav Aloo Parathas, Biryani, and to not use anything glam to look like the part. Hopefully, when you see the film, which will be releasing soon, you will be able to see all that hard work,” he added.
