Mumbai is battling incessant rains which has blocked roads, shut schools and cancelled many flights. Amid this situation, a video has now gone viral on social media of an Air India flight making a smooth landing despite low visibility. Netizens have applauded the pilot, calling him a “hero.”

Several flights have been reported to be impacted due to the relentless rainfall in Mumbai over the last few days. But, in a viral video shared by @jvidyasagar on X, we see an Air India aircraft making a safe landing at Mumbai airport amid heavy rain and low visibility. The X user also wrote, “Mumbai airport landing in the midst of heavy rains. Hats off to Captain Mr. Neeraj Sethi for landing safely with less visibility. @airindia VT-TNC.”
The video, filmed by a passenger onboard, has now gone viral and shows the pilot’s amazing skills in handling the situation smoothly. It captures how the aircraft approached the runway despite strong winds and heavy rain and still managed a smooth landing with minimal turbulence.

Netizens Applaud Pilot’s Skills
And of course, netizens were quite impressed by Pilot Neeraj Sethi’s skills. One user wrote, “Job well done by the Capt, not easy in Mumbai monsoon time when multi layers of cloud and depression area.” Another one called him a hero and wrote, “Full marks to the captain.”
Many other netizens shared similar views. One user also wrote, “Real problem will start when you get out of the airport, all roads are waterlogged”, pointing to the worsening conditions of Mumbai roads, as most of them remain waterlogged due to heavy rainfall in the city.

Mumbai rains have been relentless this year. The heavy rainfall has gravely disrupted the lives of Mumbaikars and has also led to several casualties in Maharashtra. Mumbai is now under an orange alert for the next 24 hours.
