Commuting daily via public transportation in Mumbai is not a child’s play. The City of Dreams is already infamous for its traffic and overcrowding of local trains, especially during peak hours. Let’s find out all the necessary information here.
Soon, Mumbai Will Get Mitra UTS
Major arrangements are ongoing for an integrated ticketing system for the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. The primary reason behind launching something new and innovative is for seamless urban mobility and to save commuters from the hassle of using different methods and platforms for booking multiple transportation facilities. The government shared crucial updates about this all-new step.
Mumbai will soon get a Unified Ticketing System named ‘Mitra’. Its key purpose will be to integrate several public transportation modes such as BEST buses, MSRTC buses, cabs, suburban trains, and metros. On Saturday, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw conducted a meeting. During the meeting, they discussed the introduction of the integrated ticketing system and its positive impacts to help commuters daily.
The single ticketing platform for MMR commuters aims to simplify the public transport network operations for passengers. With this advanced system, commuters can easily book tickets for the integrated transportation modes and make payments via only one platform. With the help of artificial intelligence, users can use the app conveniently and plan journeys with a single ticket via a single platform.
More About The Advanced System
The app will assist users by providing key details such as the nearest station and the closest available transportation services among others. One of its biggest benefits will be the seamless elimination of booking different tickets for multiple journeys. Mitra will be an excellent inclusion to revolutionise Mumbai’s busy commuting experience. Once operational, it will be the one-stop online destination for seamless multimodal travel and all kinds of bookings.
